During year 1882 there was grounded school for lace makers.

cotton, linen, hemp, metallic threads - older laces are made from very thin threads

Colors:

basic white; white, black, red, silver and gold and 4 tile colors (yellow, blue/turquoise, red, green/purple).

Technique:

plátno, polpár, pletenec, ploštičky, lístky, kosá sieť, pavúčiky.

Tools:

  • „cingerľa“ - derived from the Italian "cingere," meaning to surround, to encase, like
  • „klauzurína“, which refers to the catching of the thread on the pin when knitting "picots"
  • „Ketješka“
  • „jabluško

Use:

"čepcové" - used on caps in eastern Slovakia and "manorial" - fashionable for nobility and townspeople.
